Tobiko's story

Tobiko, 35, is married to Parakuo and supports a family of seven. The children are between three months and 12 years old. Tobiko is a mixed farmer and has been in the business for the last nine years. His monthly income is 15,000 Kenyan shillings (KES).

Tobiko is currently servicing his fifth loan from the Kenya Agency for Development of Enterprise and Technology. This loan, for 80,000 KES, will facilitate land preparation and the purchase of seedlings to plant.

Tobiko plans to use his anticipated profits to diversify into livestock farming and build the family a permanent house. His dream is to improve his family's living standards.
