A loan of $750 helped to buy clothes and Avon products.

Betsy Lourdes's story

The Communal Bank Aníbal San Andrés meets once a fortnight in Cantón Montecristi, which is known for its rich precolonial culture and for its traditional crafts, which are known nationally and internationally. It is famous for straw hats.

Betsy lives here, she is 26 years old, she is married and has two daughters from this relationship aged 10 and 5, who are both at school. Her husband is a bricklayer.

As well as being a great mother who is attentive to her daughters' needs, Betsy sells clothes and Avon products (beauty products, perfumes and accessories for women). She sells her products door to door, for which she goes out three to four days in the week, the weekends are when she sells the most and more income is available. She leaves products on credit and collects at the weekend as well as offering more products. She has been doing this job for 7 years and uses the earning to pay for her daughters' education.

This loan is to buy clothes and Avon products. She has been a member of the Communal Bank for 8 years and she likes it because she can succeed with the help of the loans.

Her dream is to provide the best for her daughters.
