A loan of $525 helped to buy wholesale products (fabric, thread, elastic, lace) and to perform maintenance on her machines.

Blanca Ibonne's story

Blanca, 62, is a single mother of two children. For 25 years, she has worked as a tailor. She learned this skill by taking classes from different organizations and then she started working at various tailoring businesses as an operator. She did this work for 24 years until they didn't hire her due to her age. A year ago, she set up her own workshop where she provides tailoring and dressmaking services. This has allowed her to earn income to take care of her family.

Blanca is a kind woman who is dedicated to her work. She is responsible, hard-working, and likes what she does. Every day, she works to move forward with her business. She is requesting this loan to buy wholesale products (fabric, thread, elastic, lace) and to perform maintenance on her machines. This will allow her to have a greater variety of materials to offer her customers and it will improve her production because the machines will work well. All of this will be reflected in increased sales and, ultimately, the income she receives.

Blanca dreams of having a larger tailoring workshop with better machinery so she can offer employment opportunities to mothers who are heads of households. This means she will not only improve her family's quality of life, but also that of others who are affected by this process and who, in the near future, will enjoy the fruits of her labor.
