A loan of $200 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Felicita's story

Felicita, 69, is a humble woman. She lives together with her husband, Pedro, and her two grandchildren in a house of their own. She learned all the countryside activities needed to produce and get ahead. Thanks to her parents, she owns land that helped her raise her seven children, all healthy and independent, “each with their own families,” as she says.

She is an extraordinary woman who takes care of her grandchildren since their parents died. This is why she continued to grow potatoes, corn and alfalfa. She sells her produce at home and has besides cows, sheep and bulls, which she sells when they have reached the right conditions. Thinking of her grandchildren, she started to sell food in a local school's restaurant, receiving an additional income.

This is her second loan with KIVA. She appreciates the financial support she has received, which has helped her improve her business. This is why she promises to pay the installments on time. Felicita will invest the 500 soles [PEN] in organic fertilizers for her alfalfa plantations, used to feed her animals.
