Gisela, a sus 21 años de edad, es soltera y no tiene hijos. Durante su vida productiva trabajó 3 años en un almacén vendiendo mercancía pero, con el ánimo de generar mejores ingresos decidió iniciar con su propio negocio, por lo que empezó a vender mercancía puerta a puerta y así fue consiguiendo su clientela que se encuentra ubicada especialmente en un pueblo al cual se traslada cada 15 días para ofrecer y entregar los productos encargados, luego se devuelve a la ciudad donde reside, allí alterna su negocio, manejando una tienda que es propiedad de un familiar, de esta manera obtiene ingresos adicionales para seguir aportando a la economía de su hogar. La cliente es una joven dinámica, emprendedora, apasionada por lo que hace, pues manifiesta que tiene la ventaja de manejar su propio tiempo, puede alternar diferentes actividades mientras que genera ingresos. Actualmente solicita el crédito con el fin de invertirlo en la compra de mercancía al por mayor (ropa sport, ropa interior, entre otros), de esta manera podrá tener más variedad de productos disponibles para satisfacer los gustos de sus clientes y así mejorar las ventas y por ende los ingresos. This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
