A loan of $1,475 helped a member to buy cosmetics and ingredients to make Mexican antojitos.

Las Dalias(Flat) Group's story

Las Dalias is a group made up of six happy and enterprising members. Every one of them has a business activity with the single goal of offering their families a better quality of life. This group is located in the municipality of Tierra Blanca, where the main industries are trade and livestock.

Dominga is one of the members of this group. She is 44 years old and only studied up to secondary school. She is married to Eduardo, who works as a bricklayer.

She says that from a very young age, her parents taught her to work. When she got married, she decided to start her own business selling Mexican antojitos (corn-based dishes) and cosmetics so that she could help her husband to provide for their children and give them an education. With her hard work and effort, she achieved this goal, but she continues working to improve her quality of life.

She sells cosmetics and antojitos door-to-door to neighbors and friends. Since she has been making sales for some time, she is very well-known and she has good clients. She thinks that what makes her business different from others is the friendly manner and energy that she puts into her sales.

This loan from Vision Fund will help her to buy a variety of cosmetics (lipstick, nail polish, perfumes, creams, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and make-up) and supplies to make Mexican antojitos.

Dominga hopes that her business continues to prosper, because in the future she would like to open a small restaurant where she can offer her delicious antojitos and fast food to her clients.

The other members of the group are:

Maria: Pineapple juice sales
Rosa: Cosmetics sales
Laura: Mechanic shop
Romarica: Confectionery
Laura: Beauty salon

In this group: Dominga, Maria , Rosa Maria, Laura , Romarica, Laura Veronica
