A loan of $1,575 helped to buy construction materials to complete building his house and adequately accommodate his dependents.

Johnson's story

Johnson is a permanent resident of a village in Rugando in Mbarara district. He is married with eight children and four dependents from his brother who died of AIDS five years ago.

He grew up with only a mother as his father was not known to him, and the mother made his life difficult. Being pushed by the need to survive and support his mother, he started banana farming on a small scale on the land he got from his grandmother. This banana plantation was used as a source of food for the family and income for their survival.

Johnson is a hardworking man who managed to start other businesses like poultry. These businesses have grown, giving him an opportunity to support his family and dependents, and construct a house for his family.

He is requesting for a loan of UGX 4,000,000 to complete his house and adequately accommodate the dependents. In the picture is Johnson with his brother(left to right) who also signed the waiver form.
