Momela (One) Group's story

Merina, who is in her mid 30s, is married with two children who are still going to school. She has been a food vendor for 10 years now. She works from 6 am to 10 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This is her 12th loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy more food inventories and has paid back all her previous loans successfully. With the business profit earned, she has been able to cover school fees and household expenses. She also used the money to buy a mattress, TV, radio, saucepans for her business and a plot of land.

Merina will use this loan to increase the food stock for her food stall. She dreams of one day owning a big hotel servicing more people.
She will share this loan with her loan group "MOMELA (one)" which totals seven members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
