A loan of $800 helped to buy stock merchandise and a display case.

Aliriam Del Carmen's story

Aliriam, 49, is a female head of household and mother of two children. She currently manages an ICBF [Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar - Colombian Institute of Family Well-being] child care center; she’s a community mother and also alternates this with her job selling merchandise to order via catalog. She’s succeeded in generating enough income this way to move her children forward and to cover basic household needs since the entire economic responsibility for her home is on her shoulders since her separation from her husband.

She’s an organized, active, enterprising woman who strives tirelessly to continue making progress and watching over her family’s well-being. She’s requesting the loan because she wants to buy a display case to exhibit her goods and to buy stock at wholesale (perfumery, body creams, cosmetics, costume jewelry) to take advantage of available discounts thus increasing her profit margin. In addition, she’ll have inventory on-hand to meet customers’ various tastes which will give her the opportunity of generating resources to provide economic stability and well-being for her family. She will also be able to invest in her business and strengthen it so that it will be profitable and long-lasting.
