Africa One Group's story

Rashid, who is in his early 30s, is married and a father of one baby. Since 2010, Rashid has been managing his living expenses by running a business of secondhand clothes. He starts working from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, and is able win a very small monthly profit. This will be his 11th loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy more clothes and has paid back all his previous loans successfully.

With the profit earned from his business, he bought a bed, TV, radio, mattress, cupboard, and utensils. He also managed to buy a motorbike. Rashid will use this loan to replenish more clothes and shoes to resell. His dream is to open a big clothes shop. He will share this loan with his loan group, Africa One, which has 12 members.
