Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Sarat's Group's story

Sarat, 34 years old, is married with five children, residing in a rural village of the Srey Snom district of Seim Reap province. Four of her children are still in school.

To support the family, Sarat has been farming rice and cassava for almost 16 years. Together, they can earn about KHR 44,000 per day from her current business.

Sarat is just with VisionFund this cycle. Now she is leading her group to ask for a loan.

She and her fellow member are applying for a loan of KHR 1,000,000 each. As the leader, Sarat is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides for her farmland.

She hopes to produce more rice to increase her family’s income to make a better living.
