Luz, a sus 53 años de edad, es madre soltera de 6 hijos. Toda su vida productiva se ha dedicado a trabajar como vendedora ambulante, vendiendo mecato, confitería, galletería, cigarrillos, café, entre otros, en una pequeña chaza; se encuentra ubicada en una calle del parque principal del municipio donde reside y allí ya es reconocida por su trayectoría. La cliente ha pasado por situaciones económicas muy dfíciles, pues toda la carga económica de su familia recayó sobre ella luego del abandono del padre de sus hijos; sin embargo esto no ha sido impedimiento para seguir luchando por el bienestar de sus hijos. Luz solicita el crédito con el fin de invertirlo en la compra de surtido al por mayor (confitería, mecato, galletería, café) con lo que podrá ofrecer más variedad de productos y satisfacer las necesidades y gustos de sus clientes. Esto dará como resultado un incremento en sus ventas y en los ingresos que recibe, con los cuales desea cumplir el sueño de pagar una excelente educación universitaria a su hija menor, para que ella tenga mejores oportunidades en el campo laboral y pueda forjarse un futuro próspero y existoso, además tendrá la capacidad de mejorar las condiciones de vida de su familia.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
