A loan of $225 helped to buy stock wholesale (sweets, pastries, cookies, coffee).

Luz Marina's story

Luz, 53, is a single mother of six children. All her working life, she has worked as a mobile vendor, selling pastries, sweets, cookies, cigarillos, and coffee, among other things, in a small food stall. It is located on a street of the main park in the city where she lives and she is recognized there for her work. She has been through some very difficult economic situations, since the whole economic burden of her family is on her, after her children's father left. However, this has not stopped her from fighting for the wellbeing of her children. Luz is asking for a loan with the goal of investing it in buying wholesale merchandise (sweets, pastries, cookies, coffee) with which she can offer a greater variety of products and meet the needs and tastes of her customers. This will result in an increase in her sales and in the income that she earns. With this, she hopes to achieve her dream of paying for an excellent university education for her youngest daughter, so that she has better employment opportunities and can forge a prosperous and successful future for herself. She will also have the ability to improve her family's living conditions.
