A loan of $525 helped a member to purchase a solar home system that will allow him to improve productivity.

Zongolica Group's story

Wenceslao, Miguel, and Adolfo live in Tlaxcantitla, a remote indigenous community in the Zongolica region in the state of Veracruz. The region is very mountainous and somewhat complicated, so they have lacked electricity access since the community was established.

This is Wenceslao's story:

Wenceslao is a 33-year-old man living with his family of 8, in the community of Tlaxcantitla. Over the years, Wenceslao has learned the craft of agriculture, and now he mainly works in the field cultivating corn. He also sometimes sells firewood in his community to earn more money, because his income is only $23-27 USD on a productive week.

By acquiring a solar home system, Wenceslao will be able to improve his family's quality of life and spend his monthly income on better food and clothing for his children.
