A loan of $2,850 helped a member to buy more bags, clothes and shoes to resell.


Kariakoo Group's story

Kashinde, who is in her early 20s, is married with one child who goes to school. She has been running a business of selling clothes, bags and shoes door to door, for five years now. She works from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Kashinde's first loan from Kiva partner Tujijenge Tanzania which she wants to use to buy more bags, clothes and shoes to resell. She dreams of owing a place to sell her products.

Kashinde will share this loan with her loan group "Kariakoo" which has nine members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
