A loan of $325 helped to buy goods (rice and oil) to sell.

Cynthia's story

29-year-old Cynthia from Liberia lives in Compound#3 with her two children aged two and nine. Only one child is in school and they both live at home.

Over the past nine years she has been selling rice and oil at the local market. Some problems she faces are the high prices of oil and rice, but some time she realizes little profit because she have to convert the LRD to USD in order to buy her goods (rice and oil). She started this business with help from her mother and learned this way of selling from her. She sells nine hours each day in a week. Her plans are to educate her children and build a house.
