Fanta's story

Born in 1965, Fanta lives with her 6 children and her husband in a nuclear family in the rural community of Dangassa. Fanta's rapid interest in business is due to her aunt, who owned a small business of assorted products.

Fanta, after many years of experience in her aunt's business, decided to go into the business of purchase and resale of ground nuts, black-eyed peas, millet, fonio (a species of millet), corn, bissap, etc.

After having fully repaid the four previous loans, Fanta is on her fifth loan with Soro Yiriwaso which she will use to purchase 100 bags of millet from local farmers (in Dangassa, Gouala, and Niangadina) and rarely from local wholesalers. She conducts her sales in cash and on credit, by retail, from her home, in Dangassa, and in local markets to a customer base made up essentially of consumers.

Fanta hopes to earn a monthly profit of 90,000 francs CFA which she will use to help her husband provide for the family's needs, repay the loan, and reinvest in her business.
