A loan of $1,200 helped a member to buy grocery items for her business.

Chola's Group's story

Chola, a 40-year-old married mother, lives in a rural area of the Sangke district of Battambang province, Cambodia. She has four children. One of them is still in school and dependent on her. To make a living, Chola has been selling groceries for two years. Her group consists of four members applying for a loan from VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). This is the second cycle loan for Chola and she has successfully repaid the first. The past loan has improved her family's living conditions. As the leader of this group, Chola will use her portion to buy grocery items for her business. She hopes this loan will help her to increase her income so that she can further expand her business to triple her income in the future.
