A loan of $3,000 helped to pay for livestock forage.

Qajik's story

Qajik is a farmer from the Bandivan village in the Shirak region. He lives with his family: his wife, daughter, and son. Qajik’s son is presently in the military service. Qajik takes care of his family by breeding livestock such as cows, sheep, pigs, and hens. His family also cultivates wheat and alfalfa. Livestock breeding and cultivating wheat and alfalfa are the only sources of the family's income.

Qajik is requesting a 3,000 USD loan to purchase some forage for the livestock as autumn is progressing. This is his first loan and it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. This first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have prior access to loans because they had no credit history. Qajik and his family hope for the good will of the lenders to support them to gather the needed financial resources to buy forage for their livestock.
