A loan of $1,000 helped purchase 10 piglets to raise and breed.

Kheng's story

KH. K. H., 27, raises pigs in her home with her husband, Meang Sin, in Siem Reap. They typically make US$10 per day and they have three young children to support. One of their children is a student in the local public school system, while the other two are still too young to attend school. KH. K. H. has asked for a loan of US$1000 to purchase 10 piglets to breed for additional income. She would also like to use some of the money to purchase feed for the pigs. Raising pigs is a profitable business in Cambodia and the family would like to see this business continue to grow in the future. After this loan is repaid, they will consider expanding the pig's barn to accommodate their growing business.
