A loan of $1,000 helped plant certified seed potatoes.

Arcadia's story

Arcadia is very pleased with how her first loan went. With it, she was able to buy the supplies she needed for growing potatoes, obtaining a good harvest from her crops and enabling her to fulfill her loan commitment. She used her earnings in part to reinvest in her crops on one hand, and the rest, she sent to a certified seed potato nursery, which she will plant from this time around.

Her production was very good and she was able to earn income on around 50 quintales (about 100 lbs per quintal) of high-quality potatoes. She was able to sell them in the local market quickly at a price that was both accessible and considerable. Her business changed for the better thanks to the first loan, as did her quality of life. The income she earned met and even possibly exceeded her expectations.

That's why this time she has decided to request a second loan, which she will use to plant the seed that she currently has, but in larger quantity, and once again prepare her land for the new product. Doing this is necessary to preserve and maintain the excellent results that she has had.
