A loan of $3,175 helped a member to buy pans and crockery.

Las Del Polígono (Cuenca) Group's story

The "Las de Polígono" group has eight women members and one male member. They all live in the Paccha parish of Cuenca, an area lush with vegetation and green fields. And because of its rough landscape, there is plenty of scenery to enjoy nature. The architecture here is a mixture of colonialism and modernism. The locals, like the "Las del Polígono" group members, are friendly and good people who are preserving the culture and traditions of their towns. The people here make a living form raising animals, in farming, and in business. Some travel daily to work in other jobs in the city.

One member of this group is Transito de Jesús. This is her first loan, which she is taking out alongside her friends and colleagues in the "Las del Polígono" group. All the groups members are very good friends and their common goal is overcome problems.

Transito de Jesús is 26 years old, married and has two children - aged five and three years old respectively - with her husband. Her oldest is attending one of the city's schools. Transito de Jesús's works for a private company. The family lives in rented accommodation.

Transito de Jesús works in a restaurant from Monday to Saturday and the work is going well.

Transito de Jesús will use this loan to invest in pans and crockery so that she has cooking utensils - she is currently in the process of setting up her own restaurant.

Her goal is to own her own house.
