A loan of $1,425 helped to buy fertilizers, manure and other agricultural supplies to maintain her crops of corn and vegetables.

Dunia Esther's story

Dunia is 24 years old and the mother of one boy. She is both a homemaker and a farmer, and she describes herself as a person with many dreams and an entrepreneurial spirit. Dunia is thankful to her parents for the six years of elementary school they helped her to finish, as well as for teaching her to work the land from a very young age.

Dunia is a businesswoman who works selling basic grains and vegetables. She says she and her husband run the business and take care of the crops by themselves. Dunia’s customers are neighbors, friends and others who come to the area to buy her products to resell or use themselves.

Dunia is requesting this loan to buy fertilizers, manure and other agricultural supplies to maintain her crops of corn and vegetables. She hopes to have an excellent harvest and make a good income for her family.

Dunia says one of her goals is to buy a pick-up truck so that she can transport her products herself and avoid shipping expenses. She would also like to be able to grow coffee. Dunia says that while she has her health she sees many opportunities for her family and son to have something more in the future.
