A loan of $375 helped to do maintenance on her locale and buy soda.

Maria's story

Maria is 36 years old. She is married to Andrés, who is a merchant and the father of her children. She lives in her own home with her family. Maria has a billiard hall and also sells snacks and sodas. She started more than 2 years ago with this activity. She already had the billiards tables that were brought from another place and installed in her present home, making it grow. She also sells snacks and drinks to the people who go to play or who pass by, and she serves them in a friendly manner. On the other hand, she has plans to expand the business and set up a locale to sell food. This is her second Kiva loan and she is very happy to know she has financial support that will allow her to continue forward with her business. That is why she is committed to making the payments on time. The amount of 1000 nuevos soles she has asked for will be invested in fixing up the locale, such as by painting the walls. She is also going to buy sodas and snacks wholesale to sell and thus have more income.
