Godfrey's story

Godfrey and his family have been renting but recently bought a house, which he is using as security for the UGAFODE loan. Godfrey is a resident of Namuwongo zone a city surburb.
Godfrey is a married man. His wife is Edith, and they have two children. Godfrey is a client of UGAFODE who operates a shoe-selling business. He started the business in 2010, with initial working capital of ugx.250,000. It has grown gradually, and currently the business uses operating capital of approximately ugx.1,500,000. He has also opened up a small retail shop in Namuwongo, which is generating for him some daily income.

Godfrey applied for a loan of ugx.2,000,000, purposely to boost his business by increasing working capital. He will use the loan funds to buy used shoes, which he will sell to generate income. However, he faces challenges of high rent costs and competition.
