Liezel's story

This is Liezel, 23, a resident of Dasmariñas, Cavite, in the Philippines. She is married to Mark, an employee. Together with her husband, she manages their own household while operating her business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Liezel is a fish vendor. She buys different kinds of fish at wholesale prices and sells them by the kilo. She buys fish at the local fish port early in the morning. Many patrons prefer her products since they are assured of freshness and cleanliness. Her store is located in a temporary fish market. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of PHP 1,000 in sales every day.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a PHP 12,000 loan. She will be use the loan to buy more fish to be sold every day.

Liezel hopes that her business will continue to flourish, and she dreams of having a better life. She meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of their work every week. There she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet weekly. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay their Micro Finance loans.
