Yaqwt Group's story

This group is called Yaqwt. It is made up of four women, who are neighbors from Hodeida, Yemen. They are hard-working and enterprising women. They took a loan of 120,000 YER.

Wafa is the group's leader. She is a 29-year-old married woman. She completed her secondary school only. She sells fabric and various other items, and has over two years of experience. She stocks fabric, robes and dresses to sell to her clients. Since she has professional experience in this field, she attracts more clients, which helps her business to continue to run successfully and makes the business more profitable.

Recently, she took out a loan of 30,000 YER from AMB in order to invest in her business by buying more fabrics, skirts and dresses and reselling them to her customers. This loan will allow her to strengthen her business so that she can increase her revenue. She hopes to earn large profits so that she can improve her savings in order to obtain a big loan to further expand her business.
