A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her cultivated land.

Sony's Group's story

Sony, 31, lives in a rural village of the Kampong Cham Province’s Tbaung Khmum District. She is a married mother of four children, all of whom are dependents and still in school. Her family’s income comes from growing cassava on five hectares. To complement their income, she also sells grocery items. From her current business, she can earn about KHR50,000 per day and manages to save about KHR24,000 per day for their future needs.

Sony has been with VisionFund for one cycle and has completely repaid her first loan. With the loan from VisionFund, she improved her living conditions. Now applying for another loan, she is going to buy fertilizers for her cultivated land. With this loan, she hopes to expand her farmland so as to earn more income for her family.
