Nuimi's story

Nuimi, is 40, she is married to Pedro and has two children that live in a house they own. Nuimi works in agriculture, she sells her products such as pineapple, cacao, bananas, and others at the local market, this is where she offers them, services her customers nicely who in their majority are neighbors that recommend her to other people who with time become regular customers. She started more than eight years ago with a private loan, buying and selling in small quantities, to then increase according to demand, up to this point she has done this on her own, but occasionally she hires workers for seeding and harvesting. She comments that she likes this business because she knows about agriculture and decided to start due to the need to have her own income and have a trade, because the money for their children wasn't enough and they had economic difficulties. Now seeing the good results she wants to expand her seeding area. This is her first loan with Kiva and she is thankful for the financial support that she gets to continue moving forward, she commits to pay for the loan punctually. With the amount requested of 1,500 PEN she will buy organic fertilizer and seed to continue working in her land.
