A loan of $1,075 helped to buy clothing at wholesale.

Sonia's story

Sonia is 31 years old. She lives alongside her husband and their 9 year old daughter in their own house. She is a vendor and has been dedicated to selling a diverse range of clothing for more than 8 years. She began with the help of her husband managing to acquire her first batch of garments at wholesale thanks to the savings she had obtained up to that moment.

She comments that initially she made her sales in different communities of her town, managing to earn good income since she only returned to her house with empty bags. It was this way that she obtained enough experience to turn it into the main source of her income managing to count on the constant support of her husband. She participates in the Sunday market in her district where she offers her customers a diverse variety of garments like pants, blouses, T-shirts, sports clothes, among others. Among her main buyers are country people who visit the market to make their weekly purchases.

This is her third loan with Kiva and she feels thankful to receive financial support that allows her to keep advancing. Additionally she promises to make her payments punctually. At this time, she wishes to have 3,000 "soles" and acquire clothing at wholesale like mens' pants, sweaters and sports polos.
