A loan of $100 helped a member to buy materials to construct a latrine.

Than's Group's story

Residing in Kandal Province’s Sa Ang district, Than is 52 years old and a widowed mother of six children. Growing rice and cabbage is a main source of income for her family and allows them to cover their daily expenses. She has been engaged in this business for 30 years.

Than has never been with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, before. Now she is forming a group consisting of two people to apply for a loan of 170,000 KHR each. As the group leader, she is going to spend her loan portion to buy materials to construct a latrine for her family including cement, bricks, a toilet bowl, etc...

She hopes that this loan will enable her to provide a decent latrine so her family members can live in high sanitation.
