A loan of $375 helped to buy organic compost.

Maxima's story

Maxima, 43, is a timid woman who lives with her husband, David, and their three children, who she takes care of in her own home. Since she was a girl, she has worked without rest. Now she is thankful for those lessons since she can support her family by sowing staple products such as potatoes, corn, and other foods. She also states that she has animals that help her to improve her income.

She acquired her house recently, since she was living in a remote location (a two hour trip away), now she only sows near the town and she can provide her children with a better quality of life. She now wishes to improve her sowing with natural fertilizer to obtain a good income.

She belongs to the solidarity group "Nuevo Amanecer" (New Dawn), and this is her second loan with Kiva. During this time she has obtained the money necessary to invest in the development of her business, which is why she promises to be punctual with her loan payments. Maxima will invest the 1000 soles in the purchase of organic compost to nourish her crops.
