A loan of $525 helped to buy men's sweaters, shirts and footwear.

Francisco Javier's story

Francisco is 24 years old and has three years of experience selling men's clothing, in particular shirts, sweaters and footwear. Francisco is studying mechanics in a center for technical studies in the city. He is very friendly and because of his helpful nature with his friends, he has managed to forge a lot of friendships and it was from this that his inspiration was born: to set up his own business.

As his wife works in a private company, Francisco has also been able to attract customers among his wife's colleagues which strengthen his sales, with him working from Monday to Saturday for nine hours a day. He purchases his goods in cash and his customers are mainly friends or neighbors.

His short-term goal is currently to increase his stocks and have his own home. Francisco is applying for a Kiva loan, his first request for financing via the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, which with he will buy men's sweaters, shirts and footwear, which will enable him to stock his business with more goods on display to suit his customers.
