A loan of $3,500 helped a member to buy rice, sugar, oil and beverages.

Esperanza Para El Futuro Group's story

The communal bank "ESPERANZA PARA EL FUTURO" is comprised of ten members who work in different retail activities. Rosalina, 36, is a single mother of three children. She has been running a small store from her home for two and a half years which has allowed her to be both father and mother to her three youngsters. Years ago she used to help her mother sell groceries, sodas, vegetables, meat and cheese.

In her free time she sells beauty products. Her loan will be used to buy rice, sugar, oil and beverages. Her greatest goal is to expand her store and improve her family's quality of life.

The group is grateful to KIVA lenders for the loan. Rosalina is in the back row, second person from the left wearing a pink top and black sweater.
