Nidia De Fatima's story

Nidia de Fátima is 51 years old and a single mother with one child. She is originally from El Sauce, a place that is located in the northern part of the country. Nidia is known for being a responsible and hardworking person who wants to excel on a personal level. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and preparing for them traditional dishes from the region known as “Indio Viejo”. Unfortunately, due to the lack of financial resources, she was not able to study for a degree. Therefore, she was obligated to work at an early age so that she could help with the household expenses. Thanks to her efforts and her drive to succeed, Nidia earns her living by making and selling piñatas from her home. She works at her business approximately 10 hours a day by offering her products. In the not-so-distant future, she would like to generate more income. Nidia is grateful for the assistance that the Kiva lenders offer to people who have limited resources and are from poor countries, such as Nicaragua, so that they have a way of making a decent living.
