Simon is 33 years old, from Olkalou. He is married to Tabitha, with whom he has two children, aged seven years and eight months.
He is in the mixed-farming industry which he has practiced for the past seven years and, to enable him produce even more, he has applied for his second loan, in the amount of KES 30,000, from Kenya Agency for Development of Enterprise and Technology (KADET) which he will use to buy fertilizer, planting seeds, and animal feed. The rest of the loan will be used to pay casual laborers on his farm.
Simon's monthly income right now is KES 22,000 and the anticipated profits from his expanded business will be used to start an income-generating project. He hopes that, in the future, he shall be able to buy more land and be able to educate his children to greater heights.
