Kalbu's story

Kalbu is 57 years old, married and she and her husband are raising 7 children. Kalbu has high school education and, as the main source of income for her family, Kalbu rears animals, which she started doing 20 years ago when she purchased livestock for 5,000 Kyrgyzstani som. Thanks to Kalbu's unyielding hard work, she now has 4 dairy cows and 10 sheep. Her monthly income is 10,000 som. With the aim of further developing her farm, Kalbu approached the microfinance bank Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 30,000 som, which she would use to pay the costs of harvesting. Kalbu plans to invest the earnings from the loan in increasing the quantity of her livestock.
