A loan of $3,000 helped to make a well for his land.

Shuhrat's story

Shuhrat is borrowing from IMON for the first time.

He is a diligent and hardworking person and lives in the countryside, which has good conditions for raising livestock and growing crops. Shuhrat is married and is raising three young children. He is engaged in livestock and crop cultivation, and has sufficient experience in livestock and agriculture. Mainly, he grows wheat, barley, corn, and onions. His wife helps in running the business. Previously, Shuhrat traveled to Russia for work. He remained there for 6-7 months and returned home in the autumn, but due to illness it is already the third year since he stopped going there.

Shuhrat has two hectares of conventionally irrigated land and two hectares of rain-fed land. Due to the remoteness of sources for irrigation water in the summertime, he experiences great difficulties. To reduce the cost of production, Shuhrat does not hire seasonal workers and does all the work by himself with his wife.

One of the problems for all the farmers in the region is the remoteness of sources of water for irrigation, which reduces the productivity of land. Shuhrat applied for a loan for drilling a well, which very much eases the problem with irrigation water and thus increases the yield of the land.
