A loan of $3,275 helped a member to increase the stock of vegetables.

Subira Group's story

Safina, who is in her late teens, is single. She has been making a living by selling vegetables for one year now. She works from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be Safina’s first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, which she wants to use for increasing her stock of vegetables. She dreams of opening a retail shop where she can sell things like rice, sugar, and maize flour.

Safina will share this loan with her loan group “SUBIRA” with six members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
