Haleema Abdul Razaaq Group's story

Haleema baji is the wife of Mr. A. R.. She lives in an area of Multan called Shah Rukn-e-Alam. It is famous for its beautiful handmade things. Haleema baji has been living in this area for the last 25 years. She has one son. Her husband is a street-side medic. Her son is a medical rep in a clinic. She is a housewife and prefers to do household works. She successfully repaid her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now, she is applying for a loan for her son who wants to buy medicines to start his own medical shop.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Rashida baji wants a loan to buy more cloth to resell. Shamim baji wants a loan to buy electric supplies for her electric shop. Nazia baji wants a loan to buy milk for her milk-selling business. Saddaqat Begum baji wants a loan to buy cloth for her cloth business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
