A loan of $675 helped to buy a milk cow.

María Graciela's story

María has been a member of the communal bank "10 de Agosto" for some time. She lives in Santa Ana parish in Cuenca, an area known for lush vegetation, green fields, and agricultural products. From the city center, one can see most of Cuenca. Its architecture is a mix of modern and classical styles, and its friendly, polite residents preserve their culture and traditions. María does the housework, farms, and raises livestock. She learned her trades from her parents, and this legacy lets her pay household expenses while taking care of her family. She used the previous loan to buy cattle, and she will use this loan to buy a milk cow. She likes her communal bank's unity and the camaraderie of its members.
