Benkadi I Group's story

The members of the Benkadi group are married women who are on average 40 years old with four children and all of whom live in polygamous families in Niaradougou, one of the villages in Sikasso, in the 3rd administrative region of Mali.
They collaborate with the Soro Yiriwaso micro finance institution in order to manage their farming activities in winter.
This is their fourth loan from the institution, the previous loans were correctly repaid
Mrs. Aoua who is standing second from the left in the photo cultivates rice.
With her loan she plans to pay for labouring costs, seeds and fertilizer for 0.5 ha. After the harvest she sells the crop in the village, at Sikasso to her male and female customers.
She hopes to make a profit of 100.000 francs CFA per field.
This profit will enable her to reimburse her loan and help her husband with their daily expenses.
