Gullanpugro (Nabón) Group's story

The Gullahnpugro loan group is made up of 6 female members and 1 male member, who live in the Nabón canton. This area has a cold climate, with very fertile land and has several areas of natural beauty. Its architecture is a mix of colonial and modern. Its people, like the team members, maintain their culture and traditions. Their main source of income is from agriculture, animal husbandry, and many leave the city daily in order to work in different activities that will help improve their economic stability at home. All have a common goal, which is to improve their family lives.

One of the female members of this group is Digna, who is applying for her third loan for the Gullanpugro loan group. She likes this way of getting loans because of the unity and camaraderie that exists between all of the members. At the same time these loans help her to better their business.

Digna is 31 years old, married and has had four children who are now aged 12, 9, 7 and 2. The first three children are studying in a small school in the city. Her hardworking husband works in construction as a bricklayer. The house in which they live is their own.

Digna works in animal husbandry and agriculture and planting vegetables. That which she harvests she sells in the city. Furthermore, she raises sheep, guinea pigs, chicken and cattle.

The money from this loan will be invested in purchasing fertilizer, seed and feed for their animals.

Their goal is to raise more guinea pigs of better quality.

In this group: Digna María, Martha Lucia, Maritza Yolanda, María Angelita, María Carmen, María Elisa, Lauro Gonzalo
