Marina's story

Marina, 47, is single mother of three children but only two of them still live with her in a house of her own. When she was very young she started working in various activities because she needed to support her children. That was when she started to carve out her path.

Her main skill is cooking so she decided to avail herself of her talent and open a restaurant. She gradually purchased what was needed to start her business. It was difficult at the beginning but she now has an industrial stove and a well-equipped locale. All of this is thanks to her effort and dedication.

She has a large clientele because the zone she’s located in is commercial and there are many passers-by, especially on weekends when the street market takes place. Now, she hopes to improve the dishes she serves to increase her clientele and improve profits.

This is her 6th Kiva loan and she feels grateful for the financial support she gets to continue forward. She also commits to make her payments punctually. Marina will use the 1,700 soles to buy rice, vegetables and meat to be able to prepare me dishes.
