A loan of $1,425 helped to buy agricultural supplies for her coffee crops.

Josefa Antonia's story

Josefa is 27 years old, in a common law marriage, and the mother of a child with a secondary education degree. He was able to pursue the degree through financial support provided by his parents. Along with her partner, she works in agriculture, coffee growing being their specialty. It has been part of the family for many years and has the economy to maintain and meet the different needs of their home.

It was her parents who taught her to work the land at a very early age, since in the area of family farming, coffee cultivation is a tradition. She has decided to put some capital into the coffee crops through financing a loan through the COMIXMUL cooperative. She will use this loan to buy 12 quintals of fertilizer, 12 quintals of urea, and 10 quintals of formula to protect her coffee harvest from climate change, pests and others.

Her short-term plan is to increase the volume of coffee production, which will bring more income to her family. That way, she can support her child in their studies, and continue to form an endowment for their welfare in the future.
