A loan of $375 helped to buy gasoline and auto lubricants.

Amelia's story

Amelia, 34, is married to Hubert and lives with him in their own house. Amelia is committed to her businesses and began working at 20 to support her family. One of her businesses is selling gas and auto lubricants. “My advantage is that my house is next to the highway, and there are always customers traveling this road,” shes says. She also has a small grocery store, where she sells fruit, bread, caramels, cheese, and other items to travelers who wish to take them back to their hometowns.

Her best sales days are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, when more cars come to the city. She has been selling gas for five years and says business is good. She needs funding to buy more merchandise to service her customers. This is her fourth loan cycle with Kiva. She is grateful for the support for her business and promises to make her payments on time. Amelia will use the loan of 1000 soles to buy gasoline by the gallon and lubricants.
