Joanna's story

Joanna lives in New Kru town. She is 45 years old, single, and she has three children between 13 and 20 years old. They are in school and live at home. Joanna was unfortunate unable to attend school, but she has been keeping herself busy with her business over the past 4 years by selling water in the local market.

She started this business with a little money from her mother. She said; fewer items on her table to sell are the only challenge she faces. She likes her business because it is affordable and she learned this way of selling from her friends. She mentions, "I am proud of my business because it is the only means my family is surviving." With the loan she is going to buy more water to resell. Her plan is to increase her sales even more.
