A loan of $1,250 helped to buy farming supplies.

Leda Argentina's story

Leda has a second grade education, since her parents were not able to pay for her to complete her education, so she and her partner work very hard each day so that their children will have better opportunities in the future. She is a farmer and raises basic grains such as corn and beans, which she sells to stores, shops, neighbors, and intermediaries in the area who buy at the end of each harvest. She is the mother of three children who attend school and help their parents with some field activities such as weeding and collecting the grain.

She is asking for a loan from the COMIXMUL cooperative so she can buy 40 pounds of corn seeds for her crops, and 30 pounds of bean seeds, 15 QQ of 18-46-0 formula, and 15 QQ of urea.

Her plans for the future are to make improvements to her house, which needs some basic repairs to make it more habitable and prevent humidity. She also wants to raise coffee because it’s attractive and competitive in the marketplace. In this way she can generate more income and achieve her goals.
