A loan of $1,075 helped to buy compost.

Margot's story

Margot is an honest 34 year old woman who, along with her husband Elmer, cares for her two children. They have lived together for six years. This brave woman is a farmer and provides public transportation so that she can support her family. Every morning her husband, Elmer, goes out with his car to work with the people in the main city, while Margot spends her time and energy caring for her bean, pea, and gladiolo flower crops. She’s been doing this for 14 years. What she enjoys most is going to the main city where she sells her products. “Being in the fields is marvelous. I don’t earn much but it’s relaxing,” she says. For this reason she wants to improve her crops. This will be her fourth Kiva loan and she is grateful for the financial support she gets so she can move ahead. She also promises to make her payments on time. Margot will use the S/ 3,000 to buy compost to feed her crops.
