A loan of $725 helped to buy compost.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda is a hardworking 51 year old woman who lives with her husband, Antonio, with whom she educated her three children and got them ahead. Only one lives with them now. Yolanda is a farmer and this has been her main financial activity for 20 years. Her main crops are gladiolo flower, peas, and potatoes, which she cares for and fertilizes, because she knows that the sale of each harvest depends on that. She sells at the main market in her city and takes some to the national capital, where they pay better prices, depending on the quality. She has gladiolo and pea crops that she will harvest soon and is preparing for that. This will be her fourth Kiva loan and she is grateful for the financial support that allows her to move forward. She promises to make her payments on time and will use the S/ 2,000 to buy compost to feed her crops.
