A loan of $1,000 helped to buy fertilizer and fungicide, to pay for the land that he leases, and to pay for labor for planting corn.

Isidro's story

Isidro is a 67-year-old man. He has 9 children who all work and have their separate homes. Their level of education was very low due to the economic situation he was in at that time.

He says that he has had it hard, because the companion of his life abandoned him 20 years ago, to search for the American dream. She left him with a 6-month-old girl, who is 20 years old today. He says that in the end of it all he feels happy, since he has the love of his children.

He has experience - since he was eight years old with his father, he has dedicated his whole life to growing corn and beans. He has spent 59 years dedicated to this. He says that it is a legacy his father left him with.

He also has some small income from livestock because he sells at least one cow per year.

The loan will be invested in the purchase of agricultural inputs such as: fertilizer, fungicide, payment of the land he leases, and payment for labor for planting corn. The loan will improve things because he will have food well secured,

His intention is to continue working as long as God Almighty gives him license to live, and to continue harvesting, firstly the love of his children and secondly the corn and beans. With the loan, he will cultivate 7,000 more square meters of land than last year.
